ntique salvaged European Carved Gilt Wood Pediment or painting / mirror  frame's Crown with ornament of Roses tied with a Ribbon.
Dates to ca. late 18th - early 19th cent. French or Scandinavian piece, part of a large collection of various antique carved and gilt salvaged  pieces and parts that I got recently.
Original old Gilding work : burnished Gold leaf on red clay bole poliment  applied over fine layer of white gesso on carved wood.
Condition as on the images : minor elements missing,wear to gilding,some minor cracks.
Wood has darkened on the surface and dried out, light in weight : the thing weights  694 grams.
Anyway - integrity of  this piece is not compromised  - there are no shaky or loose parts,this piece is firm and solid,safe to handle and  ready to be mounted on any appropriate style matching old painting or mirror frame or furniture of your choice.
Measurements : 47cm wide.From the top of the bow perpendicularly down to the lower edge of the bezel : 15.5cm.
The half- circumference of the bezel is about 21cm wide ouside / 15.5 cm wide inside and it is about 3cm thick
