HEAVY Cast Iron 6 point Star Kitchen Furniture Applique? Icebox? Stove? Lamp?

ITEM SPECIFICS:
This looks like cast iron, but I am no metal expert. A magnet sticks to it. Measures 6 3/4 wide x 2 3/4 inches at tallest middle circle.
After unsuccessfully searching for what this could be - I asked the antique identification group on FB as well as others and no one quite knows what it is. Speculation that it is a decorative element to an icebox or cat iron stove, and all I know is the previous owner specialized in lamps/lighting, and also Hoosier kitchen cabinets and other misc. furniture. This could be from anything, but if you know please let me know because I am intrigued by it!
I did photos both with and without the flash trying to get a good shot of it...

Also, FROM THIS POINT ON! Please ignore the eBay item specifics. The system seems to have a mind of its own, FOR EXAMPLE: putting in wattage numbers for an oil lamp part? Inserting the color pink in the clear glass chimney auction awhile ago. etc. etc. I take the time to clear them out and then next thing you know ~BOOM~ they have automatically inserted the erroneous specifics again.
